Here is a sad story of a client of mine whose wife failed to beat Covid.
Tuong had always been a man of few words, but anyone who knew him could see the deep love he had for his wife. They had been married for over 30 years and had weathered every storm together. But when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, their world was turned upside down.
Tuong’s wife had been one of the unlucky ones to catch the virus. Despite her valiant fight, she eventually succumbed to the illness, leaving Tuong utterly devastated. In the days that followed, he found it hard to carry on. Everything reminded him of her, from the scent of her perfume to the sound of her laughter.
Tuong felt lost without her. He missed her more than words could express. But he knew that he had to find a way to keep her memory alive. So he began ordering flowers on special days, like their wedding anniversary and her birthday, and placing them in front of her image. It was a small gesture, but it gave him some solace to know that he was doing something to honor her.
Despite his efforts, Tuong’s grief never really went away. He would often find himself lost in thought, thinking of all the things they had planned to do together, all the dreams they had shared. The loneliness was overwhelming, and he struggled to find joy in anything anymore.
But as the months went by, Tuong began to realize that his love for his wife was not something that could be taken away by death. It was a bond that would endure forever. And so he continued to order flowers, keeping his wife’s memory alive in his heart.
As he looked at her image, surrounded by the beautiful blooms, tears streamed down his face. He knew that life would never be the same without her, but he also knew that he would always love her. For Tuong, the flowers were a symbol of his undying devotion to the woman he had loved with all his heart.
